It’s common for Napa Valley wineries to host vacation packages for their wine club members and customers. And at Hill Family Estate, wer’re all about joining in on the fun! From June 26 to July 6, 2020, we will be hosting another spectacular Food and Wine Trails European Cruise for friends and special customers of the winery.
This time, your itinerary will head north to the historical, cultural, and entertaining centers of the Baltic Region, visiting nine countries during the 10-day cruise. And you can be sure that you’ll experience a Napa wine tasting overseas with Hill Family Estate wines available on the ship!
Ryan Hill will host the Baltic Sea voyage, as well as a two-day pre-cruise program in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark.
Voyage Itinerary
Our voyage will begin in Copenhagen. One of our first stopovers aboard the elegant cruise ship Marina will be the island of Bornholm and the quaint village of Ronne, a vital fishing hub for Europe.
Next, we sail to Gdansk in Poland, and, on successive days, head east to the Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. These remarkably interesting countries have evolved in recent decades since declaring independence to become thriving cultural and economic entities of their own. Their unique pre-Soviet architecture, cultures, and economies have been restored beautifully since reuniting with Western Europe.
Perhaps the highlight of the voyage will be our two days in St. Petersburg, Russia. This Baltic port city is the cultural capital of Russia, and the municipality has beautifully maintained the incredible buildings and palaces of Tsarist Russia. Our group will tour the Hermitage, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious art museums. Constructed in 1764, Hermitage houses over three million items in its collection, including masterpieces by DaVinci, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Matisse, Rodin, and others.
The Hermitage Museum complex also houses the famous Winter Palace, a residence for many of the Tsars and Empresses of past centuries.
Also, while in St. Petersburg, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a world-famous Russian ballet performance and even an opera.
Other Amenities Included in Cruise Package
The cost of your round-trip flights to and from your home airport is included in the package.
And, during your ten-day voyage, our Hill Family Estate’s Baltic Cruise will feature private events aboard the ship. Hosted by Ryan Hill, our Food and Wine Trails Group will enjoy:
- Welcome and Farewell Receptions
- Wine-themed shore tours in select cities
- Prepaid Gratuities
- $100 Shipboard Credit per Stateroom (if you book by January 31)
- Free and unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, cappuccino, espresso, teas, and juices
Optional Pre-Voyage Copenhagen Program for Hill Family Guests
Experienced travelers know that they need a little time to adapt to time zone changes. Our specially designed Hill Family Estate pre-voyage package offers a two-day land program in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark.
Did you know that Denmark was ranked second in the world for Quality of Life by U.S. News and World Report? The Danes, by their lifestyle and pace, embrace a concept known as “hygge” (pronounced hoo-guh), which means comfort and contentment. Arrive in Copenhagen at least two days before our voyage to enjoy some “hygge” with Ryan as you tour, wine and dine at the world-famous Tivoli Gardens.
Also, while in Copenhagen, we will participate in a brewery visit and tasting, followed by a castle tour.
The two-day experience is an excellent way to learn a little about the Baltic region and acclimate to the time change before boarding the Marina for your most memorable, fun-filled cruise of the Baltic countries.
