Explore Our Napa Vineyards

The Hill family began to select and plant their own Napa vineyards in the 1980s, using their intimate knowledge of the multiple Napa Valley microclimates, soil variations and the many subtle growing factors which influence the characteristics of the grape and the resulting quality of wine. They planted Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Albariño, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in the Carneros appellation.

Known for its clay soils and cool climate, the Napa Valley vineyards in Carneros create perfect conditions to allow these varieties to develop their complex flavors. They planted Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon in the Oak Knoll district, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah at 1,500 feet elevation near Atlas Peak; both areas with a perfect environment to develop the rich berry flavor and intense fruit color that make these red wines some of the best in the world.

We source only the best grapes from our Napa Valley vineyards to bring you memorable wines with character and distinction.

Hansen Vineyard

Location Northeast side of City of Napa.
Climate Cool Bay influence, but less wind than Oak Knoll District to its west.
Elevation 55 feet

This cobblestone knoll with a southeastern exposure ripens Cabernet Sauvignon late in the growing season. Beautiful dark rich wines are produced at this Napa vineyard.

Red Door Vineyard

Location Carneros
Climate Cool foggy mornings, warm afternoons which quickly drop in temperature due to the cool coastal breezes
Elevation 50 feet

There is dense vine planting with low yield per vine which produces excellent Merlot.

Stewart Ranch Vineyard

Location Eastern Carneros
Climate Cool foggy summers, perfect for the thin skinned grape varietals
Elevation 6 to 12 feet

The vineyard can be seen entering Napa off the right hand side of Highway 29. A red barn sits at the edge of the vineyard, which is surrounded by a wildlife refuge. Hill Family Estate produces a single Napa vineyard Stewart Ranch Pinot Noir. The vineyard also turns out excellent quality Albariño, Sauvignon Musque, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.

Guck Vineyard

Location Northeast of Hansen
Climate Cool Bay influence, but less wind than Oak Knoll District to its west.
Elevation 35 to 50 feet

Merlot from this west-facing slope is mostly situated on loam and gravelly loam soils. Summer afternoons are warm, producing small sized berries with great flavors.

Baker/Mansfield Vineyard

Location Atlas Peak Appellation
Climate Moderate temperatures, on the fringe of the fog line
Elevation 1480 feet

Excellent mountain Napa vineyard with red soil and some volcanic ash which stress the vines resulting in more concentrated fruit. It makes for a great location for Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc.

Watson Vineyard

Location American Canyon
Climate This vineyard receives cool breezes and fog from the Pacific and San Pablo Bay. Sometimes, in the summer, the wind does not diminish for days.
Elevation 250 feet

This is one of our best sites for cool-climate grapes. We grow Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Musque and Muscat Canelli. Slow maturation and good acidities prevail for these grapes.

Beau Terroir

Location Carneros
Climate Warmer pockets, protected by hills
Elevation 60 feet

Great range of terroir on this single site which produces excellent Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir.

Windy Flats Vineyard

Location On a hillside overlooking Wooden Valley east of the City of Napa
Climate Frequently windy and cooler than surrounding areas, the fog from Napa cascades down from the bluffs above and smashes into the vineyard, dissipating into the valley below.
Elevation 400 feet

This site is stunningly beautiful with rocky bluffs above the vineyards and a valley below. The vineyard soils consist of shale and rocky loams. On this 154-acre site there are approximately 20 acres in vines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and three different clones of Sauvignon Blanc.

Beau Terre Vineyard

Location Oak Knoll District, Valley floor
Climate Foggy summer mornings heat up to warm afternoons. The evening cools down with coastal breezes
Elevation 30 feet

The well drained, gravelly soils consistently produce great Cabernets and Merlots at this Napa vineyard.

Briarstone Vineyard

Location Atlas Peak Appellation, in the mountains east of Yountville
Climate Moderate temperatures, occasional fog, sometimes above the fog line.
Elevation 1500 feet

One of the newer growing regions, it produces excellent mountain Cabernets, Merlots, Chardonnays and Sauvignon Blancs depending on location of the sun and terroir.
