2017 Windy Flats Zinfandel

The 2017 vintage represents our 6th bottling of Zinfandel, and we have been learning a lot about this vineyard that was purchased in 2012. The Windy Flats Vineyard is in Wooden Valley, carved into the cliffs on the western side of the mountains. The fruit comes from a steep section at the highest point of the vineyard.  Zinfandel is seen as a uniquely Californian variety, and with the Windy Flats Vineyard we have a great opportunity to create a small amount of high-quality fruit. The 2017 Windy Flats Zinfandel aromas are dark and spicy with raspberry, coconut, and pie cherries. The palate is balanced despite its obvious ripeness. Cherry pie with flaky crust, and some fruitcake flavors round out the elegant finish.
