2022 Carly’s Cuvee Chardonnay

The 2022 Carly’s Cuvee was made from a selection of Chardonnay vineyards that Doug Hill has close connections with or manages himself. Napa Valley was still in a drought in 2022, and the 2 hot spells in August and September made harvest decisions proceed very rapidly. Due to the focus and flexibility of Doug and Leslie’s team, we were still able to harvest excellent Chardonnay from multiple sites to secure the layered expression Carly’s Cuvee deserves. Made with no malolactic influence and only light oak, this crisp and fruity Chardonnay will please people looking for a wine that enhances food and holds its own out on the patio. Carly Hill is Doug and Darci Hill’s daughter, and her contributions to Hill Family Estate are honored with this beautiful wine. The 2022 Carly’s Cuvee Chardonnay is beautifully crafted with fresh aromas of pears, golden apple, lemon chiffon, hazelnut, white flowers, and a hint of oak. On the palate, the wine shows excellent intensity and balance, with flavors of melon, pineapple and citrus. The underlying minerality and bright acidity offers extra length to the finish.
