Hill Family Estate is excited to announce the release of their 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir. With only 12 barrels produced, this is an exclusive wine that will only be available to the Hill Family Estate club members and guests that visit the Hill Family Estate Winery or who plan a wine tasting in Yountville at their tasting room.
The 2020 Hill Family Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir is made from grapes that were grown at the Floisand Vineyard which is in the rolling hills of the Carneros Appellation. The grapes were harvested on August 21, 2020 at 20 Brix. Half of the grapes were held in a cold chai for a few days before pressing, and the rest were whole cluster pressed right away. The carefully settled juice was fermented with Actiflore Rosé yeast and cold fermented in a stainless steel tank. At dryness, half of the wine was placed into neutral French oak barrels and half into stainless steel barrels. In January 2021, the wine was racked and bottled under screwcap.
The 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir offers aromas of fragrant strawberry and kiwi. The palate is bright and bouncy with flavors of green kiwi and wild yellow plum flavors leading to a clean finish. This wine was crafted in a dry style with crisp clarity and purity and has a faint blush of pink color. The pink color was created by spending only 20 hours on the skins of the Pinot Noir grape!
