Harvest is upon us, which means long hours and hard work in the cellars. The grapes are coming in fast and furiously, and they will wait for no one. Once crushed, we get the first hints of what the wines will be like, wafting up from the tanks as we do punchdowns, pumpovers, lab analysis, and the many other tasks needed to usher great fruit to its life as great wine.

With the air rich with the heady aromas of fermentation, the leaves on the vines and the trees changing color, and temperatures dropping, it is time for a harvest celebration. Certainly we can sit around and feast on piles of delicious wine grapes, but we have a better use for those.

So may we suggest sitting down at the Hill Family Estate Winery and tucking into delicious Maine lobster, corn on the cob, potatoes, and sourdough bread, washed down by the best wine Napa Valley has to offer?

Cooked by Ines Chiarello and her Napa Valley Lobster Company, these succulent Maine lobsters are treated to a New Orleans-influenced boil, which elevates the already delicious crustacean to the next level.

The event is on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm at the Hill Family Estate Winery at 2155 Solano Ave.

Tickets are $165 per person for wine club members and $195 per person for nonmembers, and can be ordered online at the Hill Family Estate website.
